Gary S. Bowitch, Member

Founding Member Gary S. Bowitch has practiced environmental law for 25 years.  He represents private, not-for-profit and municipal clients in an array of State and Federal environmental matters, providing legal advice and guidance and representing clients before the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the United States Environmental Protection Agency and in Federal and State courts.  He is a member of the New York Bar Association's Environmental Law Section and is co-chair of that section's Petroleum Spills Committee.

Prior to entering private practice in 1998, Mr. Bowitch was an Assistant Attorney General and the chief of the Oil Spill Litigation Unit at the New York State Attorney General's Office.  Prior to that position, he was Senior Attorney for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.  Mr. Bowitch received his B.S. degree in Chemistry from Union College where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a Summa Cum Laude graduate.  He received his Juris Doctor from Albany Law School and has been a member of the New York State Bar since 1987.
