Founding Member Gary S. Bowitch has practiced environmental law for 25 years. He represents private, not-for-profit and municipal clients in an array of State and Federal environmental matters, providing legal advice and guidance and representing clients before the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the United States Environmental Protection Agency and in Federal and State courts. He is a member of the New York Bar Association's Environmental Law Section and is co-chair of that section's Petroleum Spills Committee.

Tara Cromarty, Legal Assistant / Paralegal
Tara Cromarty joined Bowitch & Coffey in 2019 as a legal assistant/paralegal. She received her Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University at Albany School of Business in 2005 and Executive MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management in 2017. She returned to New York State in 2018 after 10 years working in Australia. She has worked for both large and small firms including FactSet Research Systems Inc., Rocket Internet, and not-for-profit charities in strategy, project management and consulting roles. Tara assists with all facets of the firm’s operations, including discovery, service of pleadings, and firm administration, and is a notary public
